1998 - Algatechnologies is established by JCA (a British company that supports novel projects in Israel) in joint ownership with Kibbutz Ketura.
2003 - Algatechnologies establishes a pilot plant in Kibbutz Ketura, and commercializes the work of Prof. Sammy Boussiba from the Sde Boker Research Institute of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
2004 - Algatechnologies receives the ISO 9000 certification.
2006 - Algatechnologies expands the capacity of its astaxanthin production facilities by 120%.
2007 - The FDA allows Algatechnologies to market the AstaPure brand in the USA under NDIN approval.
2008 - Algatechnologies receives EFSA approval to market its AstaPure brand in Europe.
2009 - Letter send to The FDA for permision of usage for 12 functional health claims for Algatech's AstaPure brand.
Algatech is engaged in two EU-funded research projects to develop renewable energy from microalgae.
2010 - Algatechnologies obtains GRAS status from the FDA for its AstaPure brand. Algatech participates in the Sensbiosin bio-economy research project, which is part of the European Commission Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).
2013 - Alpha Investments, a UK-based strategic investment group, acquires a controlling share of Algatechnologies.
2014 - Algatechnologies completed a significant production capacity expansion project, allowing the company to offer a reliable and consistent supply of the AstaPura brand.
2016 - Algatechnologies was accredited with a Certificate of Compliance, achieving Non-GMO Project verification status for its AstaPure line.
