Algatech
produces natural astaxanthin from microalgae; our CO2-extracted product
completed a review by the FDA and the FSA without objection, and
is allowed to be sold in the Japan,United States and Europe among
other countries, as a human dietary supplement.
Astaxanthin is sold as a dietary supplement ingredient, which means
that it can be marketed without obtaining advance approval from the
FDA and without being subjected to the pre-market clearance requirements
that regularly apply to pharmaceuticals. Nevertheless, Algatech requires
rigorous pre-clinical and clinical testing of its products and maintains
an active research program.
Algatech’s astaxanthin-based products are produced from non-GMO
species.
Our production site is certified ISO 9002, HAACP/GMP, and it has
also been certified kosher by Kosher Supervision of America (KSA).
