Algatech’s mission is to maintain its worldwide leadership in microalgae technology by developing and commercializing high added-value products for the nutraceuticals* and cosmeceuticals industry. Algatech’s main goals are:

1. To maintain its current position as the leading producer of natural astaxanthin as a powerful nutraceutical antioxidant for human applications

2. To discover, commercialize, and convert our Astaxanthin into antioxidant products that will successfully treat and prevent the major degenerative diseases of humans caused by oxidative stress

3. To increase public awareness regarding the immense advantages of astaxanthin in human health maintenance and the prevention of free radicals damage to cells and organs

Algatech engages in one of the greatest challenges facing health care professionals in the modern era—that of combating age-related diseases, such as:

· Age-related macular degeneration and cataracts

· Cell defense against oxidative stress (DNA and membrane lipids preservation)

· Heart disease (hypertension, coronary artery disease)

· Auto-immune diseases (multiple sclerosis, diabetes)

Algatech’s success is based on its ability to cultivate algae efficiently in a closed system, making maximum use of the Arava’s long sunlight hours. Our plan is to become a magnet for algae production in Israel and to attract other algae producers who want to make use of our expertise, facilities, and climate.
GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) is employed for the manufacture of our Haematococcus algae. Pure cultures of the algae are cultivated in a fully controlled and closed culture system, and then transferred to a modular tube system exposed to natural sunlight for the final reddening stage of the process.

All media ingredients used are food grade, and no solvents, pesticides, herbicides, or toxic substances are used during the production process.
